2017 Grief Reach Grant Applications Now Open


The New York Life Foundation in partnership with the National Alliance for Grieving Children is excited to announce the opening of the RFP cycle for Grief Reach, a grant program that will expand capacity and increase access of bereavement services for grieving youth with local organizations.  This is the seventh year the New York Life Foundation has collaborated with the National Alliance for Grieving Children on the Grief Reach program.

Program details are as follows:

WHO: The New York Life Foundation is collaborating with the National Alliance for Grieving Children (NAGC) to offer a dedicated grantmaking program to support grief providers’ efforts to expand and grow their capacity to provide assistance to diverse and disadvantaged youth with limited access to bereavement services locally. The NAGC will administer the grant program.

WHAT: The Foundation has committed $1.25 million toward forty-two grants for local bereavement organizations serving grieving children across the country. The grants will be given over a two year period and range from $10,000 to $100,000.

WHEN: For the first time, there will be two grant cycles. The first cycle will open on March 6th and run through April 10th, with decision announcements in June 2017. The second cycle will open June 22nd and run through August 7th, with decision announcements in October 2017. Participants are required to select the cycle in which they would like to apply.
