Great profile piece about Camp Erin and Jamie Moyer. View it here.Gorgeous camera work and of course touching stories about children coping with their grief.
Jamie Moyer is the legendary professional baseball pitcher currently playing for the Philadelphia Phillies. His family started the Moyer Foundation and, as he states in the video, one of his proudest accomplishments is Camp Erin which has a nationwide network of bereavement camps. The ESPN video tells the story of how Jamie met Erin Metcalf and her family back when he was a pitcher with the Seattle Mariners and how their encounter changed not only his family's lives, but now the lives of thousands of grieving children across our country.
The Moyer Foundation is a member of National Alliance for Grieving Children ("NAGC") and has been a strong collaborator with bereavement programs throughout the country. Featured in the ESPN video is Becky Byrne from Annie's Hope, a long time NAGC member and supporter and Camp Erin program leader in St. Louis.
The strength of the NAGC comes from all of the collaboration and sharing of its members, so please tell us if you have some good news to share. Email us!
